The Philippine Health Insurance or the ‘Philhealth’, as what it’s known to many Filipinos, is a national health insurance program of the Philippine government.
Once registered as a member, you’ll be assigned a Personal Identification Number (PIN). You use this PIN to pay the required membership contributions (yes, simple as that).
Eventually, if you use an incorrect PIN, other PhilHealth member may benefit from your payment.
As what is posted on its website, PhilHealth would like to reminds us,
“Siguraduhin tama ang iyong PIN upang hindi maitala sa ibang miyembro ang iyong hulog.”
Recently, we received a lot of quiries how to recover forgotten/lost PIN.
If you happen to have thesame problem, read this other blog post – Lost your PhilHealth PIN? Don’t worry, it’s just one text away!
Moving on, you can check your latest date of payment, and the validity of your health insurance thru the Member Data Record (MDR).
Take note that in times of confinement, some hospitals may still require you to provide a hard copy of MDR for your expenses to be covered. Likely, these hospitals don’t have access to PhilHealth’s ‘My PhilHealth Portal’ facility.
